Volunteer Information

Red, White and BOOM! would only be a Red, White & Whimper without our many volunteers! It takes a lot of people to pull off this fantastic, family-friendly feat, and we welcome all volunteers willing to help out for a few hours on the day of the event. In return, you get free admission and parking that day, free burgers/hot dogs and beverages, and the chance to meet lots of other fun, friendly people!

VOLUNTEER SHIFTS / Each shift = 2 hours

Ticket Booth Workers (3 locations; 44 Volunteers needed)
Volunteers at our ticket booths can choose to 1) Conduct transactions of  ticket purchases at one of three entrances to the fairgrounds; 2) Verify each person entering the fairgrounds possesses and ticket while welcoming them to the event; or 3) Act as the “point person” at one of the three fairground entrances while managing the seamless start/end of ticket taker and cashier shifts:

Parking Attendants (5 locations; 28 Volunteers needed)
Volunteers are posted at one of the five parking lots designated for the event, and collect all parking lot admission payments:

Crossing Guards (3 locations; 9 Volunteers needed)
Volunteers are posted at three locations between designated parking lots and the fairgrounds, stopping traffic to assist pedestrians who are crossing the busy streets to the event:

Beer Pourers (2 locations; 36 Volunteers needed)
